Cleaning the microwave is never fun. Scrubbing caked on spills or splatters is something we all have to faced. No matter how hard we try our microwaves get dirty! And depending what you reheated in there you may be faced to smell it over and over again… no thanks.
I have found a way that makes cleaning my microwave quick and easy and not a dreaded task I dislike doing.
The Lemon
If you have a full lemon or lemon juice – you have all you need to get your microwave sparkling inside.
Take a microwave safe bowl or a coffee cup, cut a lemon into 4 pieces and then squeeze the juice from the lemon into the bowl/cup and add the slices. If you only have lemon juice, pour about 1/4 cup of lemon juice into your dish/cup. Add 3/4 cup of water and place in centre of microwave. Turn microwave on for 4- 5 minutes. Once microwave has stopped allow to sit for 2 minutes, then carefully remove the dish with lemon and simply use a warm cloth and wipe.
You will be amazed at how simple it is to clean away virtually any spill! And takes less the 10 minutes from start to finish. It also acts as a deodorizer and removes any smell from previous things you have reheated.
